Today I have tried the blogger template designer for my old blog where I started blogging ( http://ijust4u.blogspot.com/ ) . I was trying with drupal gardens beta provided by acquia lately. What are the things I noticed is, Drupal gardens and blogger template designer is somthing similar . You can write custom styles, change the layouts as 2, 3 etc.

Blogger is free . Drupal gardens beta is also free , but after 1 year it will be paid . But you can have many of the features of Drupal and don't want to worry about hosting , upgrading to the latest versions , updating for security fixes etc . All will be looked after by Drupal gardens . I have embedded both the videos for you to see how it looks . You can see my old blog in a cool new look .
